5 product ideas
inspired by my area
idea 1: textured candles
inspiration from my area:

- contrast in my area (seeming harmlessness of the area vs. violent underbelly)
- candles are also a beautiful but potentially dangerous object
- contrast will also be reflected in the texture of the candles

idea 3: alarm sticker
inspiration from my area:

- people I interviewed told me about not feeling safe in the area and even that they were planning on moving away as a result of this
- it is an area where groups of young people carry big knives and stab each other

IDEA: sticker that makes a recognisable noise that will become known in the area that someone needs help (sticker can be put on anything)
research:
(source: https://www.angieslist.com/articles/how-well-do-security-alarms-deter-crime.htm)

- "The simple presence of an alarm can deter burglars, or limit the amount of time a burglar stays in your home."
--> same logic can apply to stabbings/stealing, especially because most of the perpetrators are very young

idea 5: trash cans to stop people from littering
inspiration from my area:

- while walking around my area, I noticed a lot of trash on the ground everywhere (while this was helpful for collecting my 20 materials, the issue of littering should definitely be addressed in this area)
- developing a fun way to throw trash away will mainly inspire kids to do so, who will hopefully then hold onto those values as they grow up
